Administrator documentation

Guides to users, roles, and system administration.

Updated 9 October 20262 min read

This section brings together guidance on managing users, roles, and system settings in the Journey AI admin panel. This is where you decide who can access the panel, what each person can do, and which components editors can use to build pages.

How authorization works

  • Permissions are granted to roles: Roles are assigned to users. What a user can do is the combined set of permissions from their active roles; permissions from an inactive role don't count.
  • Permissions are grouped: Language, File, Component, Template, Page, Role, User, Form, and Parameter management, plus System information, Cache management, and Developer.
  • Submitting and approving are separate: Page permissions are granted individually, so you can separate the people who prepare content from those who approve it for publishing.

Areas of responsibility

  • Users and roles: Create roles, add users, assign roles, and check effective permissions.
  • SSO registration requests: If your organization uses SSO, approve requests from first-time users and assign their roles.
  • Component catalog: Manage the component definitions available for site pages and templates.
  • Settings: Set up the e-mail provider, form security, the AI provider, file limits, and site addresses.
  • Monitoring: Follow the change history, errors, and site visitors.
  • Private pages: Open pages only to people you invite or to your organization's network.
